Just left the restaurant. Food was good for the most part. We were a group of 8 with separate checks. One in the party who was pregnant asked to switch out her crab au gratin because she didn't like it and wanted to switch to something more familiar. We are visiting from Atlanta and have been trying different New Orleans cuisines and hadn't come across anything we didn't like until this one dish. What an awful experience!! My husband ordered the bar-b-q shrimp pasta, which had sand in it. 5 of us agreed that were eating with him. My husband politely informed the waitress who was sweet and professional. However, when the owner's daughter came to find out what the problem was and my husband told her, the owner's daughter basically informed him he couldn't get a new entrée and that he would have to pay FULLY for a meal he could not consume. I went there last night for the first time in years, with my daughter and her boyfriend. The place has changed quite a bit. We had this seafood type of pizza as an appetizer which was very tasty. I got a bowl of seafood gumbo. When it came out the rim of the bowl was a mess with the gumbo and the spoon was placed upside down in the bowl so the entire handle of the spoon was full of gumbo so when I picked it up I had to wipe if off so as not to get a mess all one my hand. I'm so excited to visit Deanie's again in august! I'm from Germany and i was there two times in the last 4 years. The best seefood i ever ate in my life! We have no catfish her in germany but I love to have that again in Nola! ♡
Best in Bucktown. Stuffed shrimp was awesome! Onion rings were terrific !
