Dawes is amazing no matter the season. There is always color either on the ground or in the trees, and so peaceful we love hiking around there and spending a little time on a bench listening to the birds
I used to highly recommend it to everyone.. we love it there.. loved walking the paths and getting some great pics for my screensavers... but if they're charging to get in now? good bye, its been a great 10 year run but all things come to an end.. was nice while it lasted.. but, alas, there are other parks.. dawes is nice, but not nice enough to pay to get in, the other parks are nice too...
Never charge, like they did for nearly a century. Not do exactly what the founders said to never do.
This is a sweet little respite. We enjoyed the quite, winding road through the arboretum, the Japanese Garden, the many walking trails, the lookout tower and the hedge lettering. When we visit Ohio again we will for sure have this place on our list of places to go.
This gem in Licking County should not be missed. The fee to visit is nominal. And seniors get a 10% discount. Family of 6 can visit all year for my cost of $54. Everyone should join to help maintain this wonderful property.
The care the staff puts in to this botanical garden and biological reserve is outstanding. The collections of species from all around the world to keep genetic integrity in tact is amazing. Only recently did I realize how vital the work the staff is to native and non-native species. They are leaders in their fields and share their passion with everyone who listens. Thank you for providing Licking County with such an amazing space!
A beautiful place to hike to think to breathe deeply and take in the expanse of the nature park.
One of our family's favorite places to visit. It is so beautiful and peaceful.
I have lived very near to Dawes for 28years. I have enjoyed many trips to Dawes throughout those years. For my daughters and I to go for an hour long walk with our little ones it will cost $50.00 EACH TRIP. Most locals here do not go once or twice a year. Many go several times a week to walk. On our walks we see several elderly folks on the auto tour. It may not be much for one person to pay for an occasional visit, but when you have a family or are on a fixed income, it’s too much to ask. Yes you have the right to do this, ... read more
