I’m no longer recommending Dawes for the same as everyone else. My husband and I were married on the island five years ago and it was beautiful. We also attended ever date night event last year as well. But they didn’t even bother with the event this year (which was monthly at $25/person) and now they want to charge to enter. There isn’t anything worth paying that much to enter. There are plenty of beautiful places much larger and nicer that are free in Columbus and the drive isn’t too much more. It’s a real shame that they ... read more
Very relaxing setting.. Beautiful scenery to enjoy.
I attended an herbal class and it was fun, informative, and helpful!
Such an incredible place to learn, relax, and take in the great outdoors!
Unfortunately I will not be returning to Dawes. My daughter and I live on a country rode with no sidewalks. We came quite frequently to walk and enjoy nature. Unfortunately I can not afford $15 every time her and I would like to take a walk at Dawes.
I have lived in the area all my life. Dawes has been a part of it to. I went there during elementary. I took my wife there on our first date. We've taken our kids there for maple syrup days and they learned about nature there. We took both kids senior pictures there. we've donated money to help with the upkeep. Charging just to get past the gates will stop us from returning. They may think this will make them money but all they are doing is losing the people that appreciate the park.
Awesome more than Awesome something for everyone.
Who ever decided to start charging admission needs a raise. Now that know one will visit and they will no longer be able to afford the land. Just think of how nice that property will look as a golf course or a housing development. 😂😂😂
Dawes Arboretum is always on our itinerary when we visit the area and to support them, we always try to spend a little in the gift shop. Yesterday I stood, intended purchases in hand, while the gift shop attendant talked on the phone, ignoring an in-person customer, for over five minutes. After I had returned each of my items to the original shelves and walked out, she was still on the phone.
