Locally ofcourse Dawes is a well known destination especially on weekends.The whole park is very well laid out with both driving scenic roads and walking paths.It has shelter houses,benches,a lake,and picnic tables.Of course trees and bushes are marked and it is always cleaned up,cut and trim.Locals can even take the Heath Bike Trail and cut over Davis Road to access Dawes on a bycycle without having to ride State Route 13.
I run here 2-3 times a week. Not only is it a challenging run but the beauty and peacefulness help deal with life's stresses. Will continue to run and walk here until my body says no more!
There is so many attributes to select to narrow it down. I love. the history and educational information.
It is an interesting and relaxing place to visit. So much pretty scenery. We enjoyed touring the house and the grounds as well. We plan to go back again.
We visited the arboretum for the first time last Friday. My husband and I weren't sure what to expect. We both took more from it than we thought. We took the time to take it all in, and are excited to come back to see more. I can go on record to say that we both felt at peace. The prices are reasonable and we will gladly pay again. The entire time we were visiting there were ground crews constantly cleaning and assessing areas.
Beautiful Ohio treasure! Can't believe this is our first time here. We will definitely return.
Loved the beautiful blooming magnolia trees! So many varieties! Be sure to hike up the lookout tower. The view will give you a new appreciation of the evergreen bushes at the far end of the lake. So much to see!
It's not the first and wouldn't bethe last time me visiting Dawes Auboretum, even it is a long way from Germany.
I enjoyed hiking and Looking at the trees, listening to the birds. I wish there was a little better signage . I never found the wetlands ..though I saw many,other things. I would go back knowing now what to look for. Also wanted to catch the tour,of the mansion but it was only,offered,once.
