I am new to the area and twice have needed to see Dr. Shumate other than going for a cleaning. The first time I needed a new filling and the second visit I needed two crowns. They got me in quickly and the work done was outstanding. Dr. Shumate and his assistants really do care about you!
Had a great visit with Dr Shumate and his team today. Came to the office with a broken crown. They quickly assessed the situation and provided a treatment plan that they were able to execute at the same visit, saving me from having to return for a 2nd visit. All the while showing a high level of care, compassion and humor. I would highly recommend Dr Shumate and his team, and already have to my daughter!
Very nice and helpful staff. Got me in as a new patient within a week. Excellent and painless cleaning and exam. Temple and Dr. Shumate made good suggestions going forward for my dental health. They explained everything and developed a comprehensive plan of care.
Temple did an awesome job on me and my sons teeth. Dr. Schumate as always is a cheerful person who is ready to answer any questions you may have.
I needed major work done to fix a broken bridge. Dr. Shumate was a complete professional in dealing with my dental issues. Dr. Shumate's staff was very friendly, attentive, and efficient - always keeping me informed of what they were doing and why they were doing it. Waiting room time was minimal. I am very happy with the result! Dr. Shumate and his staff were all excellent, and I recommend this practice to anyone.

Dr. Shumate and his entire staff are always so friendly and professional. I recently moved from Pender to Brunswick but still make the trip to this office because of how great they are!
Dr. Shumate and staff including Abby and Christina at the front desk, continue to provide exceptional care and support. I needed an urgent appointment for an infected, painful tooth and gum that developed over the weekend. The front desk got me into the office quickly the next working day. Then the dental team assessed my situation and, because of my overall medical condition, immediately referred me to an oral surgeon for the remedy and quickly submitted a script for antibiotic to my local pharmacy.
