Deep red walls, funky art, fantastic food and a wine bar balcony make this downtown restaurant a local favorite. Chef/owner Tom Douglas, who also owns Etta's Seafood and Palace Kitchen, spares nothing to make the most interesting, flavorful, beautifully presented dishes. For appetizers, try the Scallion potstickers and Penn Cove Manila clams. Entrees feature numerous seafood selections and wood-grilled meats. Do not skip dessert. Douglas is renowned in Seattle for his coconut cream pie with white chocolate. Dinner is served ... read more

We had breakfast here each of the last two days. I'd definitely recommend it, and especially the homemade donuts. I had the french toast which was excellent too.
Yummy baked goods! – We heard about this bakery from the next door Serious Pie waitress who raved about the coconut cream pie. So, of course, we had to try it! Though, when we went it was already closed. So the next morning we tried again and we got a fig bar, yogurt and granola cup, and a bitesize coconut cream pie to-go (they put it in a small chinese to-go looking box which was perfect ). I absolutely LOVED all of them, and I REALLY enjoyed the granola and yogurt cup which I kept craving throughout my visit in seattle~ De... read more
Great place for some soup and bread – When I get a chance for a qick bite in downtown Seattle I head to the Dahlia Bakery. On a cold or wet or overcast day a warm bowl of soup always sounds great and the Dahlia Bakery delivers. There are other soup flavors, but my favorite is their house made tomato. A bowl of soup includes a piece of bread as well. The baked goods are all delicious, if not a little high in price. If you want some bread, rolls, or the famous coconut cream pie this is the place for you. Smaller baked goods li... read more
Long-time Favorite – The Dahlia Lounge remains one of my Seattle favorites, as it has consistently delivered delicious Northwest cuisine and good service since I started dining at Tom Douglas restaurants 14 years ago. I was sad to see the Dahlia move to its current larger space, because I loved the intimacy of the smaller Dahlia. However, the dimly lit dining room with hand-blown northwest glass and the discrete servers who are usually interesting people create the magic needed for an intimate dinner for 2 or 10. Tom Douglas... read more
best piece of pie in town – My favorite actual pie in Seattle is undoubtedly, invariably, the luscious, one of a kind true Seattle recipe for creamy coconut cream pie to be found only at Tom Douglas' little bakery on 4th avenue, called Dahlia. Lots of places have pie in Seattle. If you try and compare bakeries, you will not find a better slice of pie than that coconut cream pie at Dahlia. It literally is the one item that keeps people coming there every single day. Very fresh, very creamy, absolutely best of breed coconut cr... read more
Great Brunch Spot – My husband and I have been hearing about this place so we decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed. The brunch was amazing! We have sense been back several times and have taken out of town guests who shared our sentiments. The wait staff is always friendly. We have been for dinner as well and wasn’t as thrilled, we enjoy the brunch menu a lot more. The price is a little high for 2 people if you get a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, but it’s worth the splurge!
Pretty decent Sunday lunch. – I was not blown away, but it was a nice meal. I had a crab cake with some roasted potatoes which was very nice. My wife had the cheese burger and tells me that "the meat was very juicy and the veg was perfect. The fries were nicely seasoned". I will go out again to try the full menu. I really hope to be blown away! Please don't let me down again Seattle!
Good Northwest fusion food – I have been to the Dahlia Lounge many times and on every occasion, I have absolutely loved the appetizers. They are always impeccably crafted and delicious food pairings. I always enjoy the main courses but not always as much as the first course. Their beverages are good and my friends liked the wine chosen by the waiter. Dessert is also a good choice, with many tempting offerings. The creme carmel is quite nice and one friend of mine loves the coconut creme pie. The donuts are my least favorite,... read more
Very "good" but not "GREAT" – We came to Seattle on a weekend visit from Portland. We decided to have dinner at the Dahlia Lounge based on it's reputation. We each had the "Special" of the evening which was a New York Steak. The meal was "Good" to be sure, but I wasnt at all "Amazed". I had Oysters as an appetizer and I was a little unimpressed. The Steaks were Good to be sure, but not any better than other restaurants that serve New Yorks. My wife didnt like the mashed potatoes that came with the steak. They were green due ... read more
