I found Dr. Press by looking at reviews of shoulder specialist in the Woodbridge area and scheduled my first appointment. I already knew going in, that I needed rotator cuff surgery but did not realize it was going to be such a long recovery. Dr. Press was excellent. He took the time to listen to my issues, came up with a treatment plan and was very willing to incorporate my ideas and my thoughts into my comfort level. He was kind, friendly and professional. Looking forward to resolving my issues with him.

Dr. Press is a board certified orthopedic doctor whose specialties include shoulder, upper arm, and elbow areas. On January 18th he will put some of that expertise to work on repairing my torn rotator cuff. He has already in years gone by rebuilt one of my elbows, and performed a complete shoulder replacement. How lucky I have been to have found such a skillful doctor with such talent as to have given me the ability to maintain a normal life style. After dislocating my elbow and breaking a bone in the area, the ER Drs. and Dr. Press said my injury was so severe that a steel plate in my arm was necessary but since I am 76, there was no certainty the plate could be attached due to arthritis. Dr. Press was a miracle worker whose skill enabled him to attach the plate and the screws without impeding the movement of my elbow, an initial concern. Five weeks after surgery, I have total elbow mobility, thanks to Dr. Press.

I would recommend Dr. Press. He was able to remove hardware (five screws and a plate) successfully from my elbow from a prior surgery that had occurred fifteen years ago. The hardware had started to cause problems and one screw had come loose. Almost immediately after surgery the elbow worked well and seven weeks later I have full use of the elbow, no pain. He explained everything ahead of time. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon.

I had a catastrophic fall at work on my left shoulder. This shoulder had 3 previous rotator cuff repairs. It wasn’t giving me any trouble until I fell. I had the original surgeon do a repair but it failed. Then I had another surgeon that was going to attempt an allografts. He determined it was too far gone to try and referred me to Dr Press. Dr. Press is definitely skilled, but his best feature is his bedside manner. I had shoulder surgery in November and we discussed several options. In his explanations he was very thorough and really allowed me to make the best choice with the facts. Shoulder surgery is not an easy choice, but if you have to have it I would absolutely recommend this doc.

First off I tell it like it is. A typical active male all of my life, I have had several major surgeries. I now can add to the list a complete shoulder replacement. This was my second time with Dr. Press as he successfully rebuild my arm a few years ago. On both occasions he took the time to educate and explain in detail the procedures prior to, and after surgery.
