I am a return Customer of Cubesmart. I accessed my unit on 03/09 and as soon as I opened the storage I was hit with a strong smell of death and urine. I immediately seen rat droppings, rat poison, and chewed up items at the front of my storage. I went to the office to notify Mayra of my findings and all she could say was I will submit a report. I went back to my storage and started clearing the items out and found feces and chew marks all throughout my property. I found 3 rats that were decomposed. They were in such bad shap... read more

I rented two units from the facility in Springdale ohio. A 10' X 20' and a 10' X 10'. I spent over $300 to rent both units. They appeared to be nice but not the case. I requested a move out and refund three days after I moved in from the manager who never got back to me. The day of the move, one of the other employees said they were contacting their boss about pro-rating the rate because I had only been there seven days. I have been with CubeSmart for 13 years. I have had an automatic payment setup with them for 13 years and always have loyal customers. But they defaulted on me for many years. For example, on this page, their regular price for a unit of 5X10 with lift access is $91.18 [https://www.cubesmart.com/connecticut-self-storage/hamden-self-storage/small/3460.html], but they charge me since March 2023 is $123 and have been for $114 for many years. I have been with CubeSmart, 785 Sherman Ave, Hamden, CT, since 2010. For the past 13 years, they have increased the monthly fee from 30 to 150 without my consent. Recently I found their regular price, as their website shows, is $90 for 5X10 with lift access, but they charged me $123 per month. This is simply fraud.

I have been with CubeSmart, 785 Sherman Ave, Hamden, CT, since 2010. For the past 13 years, they have increased the monthly fee from 30 to 150 without my consent. Recently I found their regular price, as their website shows, is $90 for 5X10 with lift access, but they charged me $123 per month. This is simply fraud.

If there was a rating zero, I would have given them a zero. I agree with most of the customers who's reviews were low as it should. I am elated that I'm not the only consumer who have had a horrible experience with Cubesmart. With their motto "to surprise and delight customers by always giving more than expected." They got it right with some of it - they surprise their customers with outrageous storage fee and terrible customer service.
