If you have a special needs child, expect for them to have a rough time. While Children’s has a great child life program to help with kids while waiting, they do nothing to help ensure kids that have trouble with waiting (like autism) don’t have have to wait any longer than needed. We had to wait over 2 and a half hours for my son’s surgery because they were so behind. All awhile he is trying to bang his head on things, and fighting the entire time wanting to eat. My daughter had a test today. I was worried about if she would lay there & have it done. In comes Chelsea, the child life specialist. She was absolutely amazing. She was there for her. Explained every single little thing. Wonderful experience. Perfect line of work for such a sweet soul ❤️❤️
