Great atmosphere – Their deserts are the best! Try the orgazmo pineapple drink! They have a cozy gathering spot in the back for drinks. The menu changes often which is nice & they have lots of variety. It looks like something out of a movie.
Great for groups – This place is great for groups as you can order many different entrees and share them all. Tables are for larger groups...can be a quit loud, but fun none the less!
Creative Dishes – The food is so creative and will definatly give you a break from the bland. The trick to having fun is to go when it is not the weekend when the people attempting to be trendy come in from the burbs. Some people poo poo Chino because the crowd has taken a bad turn but go during the week and enjoy great food, great service, and you can actually hold a conversation without yelling to one another.
Tons of fun! – This is one of my favorite places in uptown Minneapolis. A little pricey but the ambience is a ton of fun. A unique menu, fun drinks and friendly staff. They have a great happy hour appetizer menu. Good pick up place for happy hour if youare single. Great to entertain out of town guests.
Go for the food, atmosphere – The "trendiest" spot in Uptown- an experience everyone should have at least once. The food is very good and certainly unique, but avoid dinning with less than 4 as the dishes are large and meant to share. The atmopshere is great, as long as you don't mind the blaring music. The bar/lounge is something to avoid except during happy hour. Overall, Chino is a fun and unique dining experince- great to share with a large group of friends for a special occassion.
Terrible Service! – I reserved the Community Table for my friends birthday on a Friday night. I expected the loud noise and fun atmosphere...What I didn't expect was the RUDE Service by BOTH of our Servers and insulting remarks made to me and my guests. Our male server was horrible and made it clear that he did care about Guest Service what so ever. Fun Night Out – I'm so surprised by many of the reviews on this site that I decided to write my own. I've been to Chino at least a dozen times, for both dinner and drinks. I'm typically a big fan, though you should know what you're getting into. - Chino is LOUD! Disappointment with a capital D – After hearing about this restaurant for many years...I was eagerly looking forward to an after work get together with a group of co-workers. I wish that I had read these reviews prior to going...I could have saved myself a lot of money and a very dull evening. We had a group of 8 and were seated at a large round table and there we were left for a very long time. not so great – I was excited to try this place, but it ended up not being what I expected. The waitstaff was rude and had their noses in the air most of the night. We tried to get our servers attention a few times and she seemed to ignore us while trying to grab the attention of the guy at the other table. The food wasn't as good as I'd hoped, and over priced.
