I had Retinal Detachment Surgery here today and I have to say this place is Top Notch. All the way from Adminttance at 5:30 am through Surgery and Post opp. Thank You to Everyone here at TGH!!!

What exactly is your protocol when someone has been airlifted to your establishment? Early Sunday morning September 20th 2015 my father was airlifted from winter haven in stable condition to Tampa General because he is an established patient there and a heart transplant candidate. He arrived around 2:30am. When My mother and I arrived at 5:30am in the ER he was vomiting and struggling for breath. Currently waiting in the ER for 4 hours and waiting. When I came in, I was quoted a out am hour. It is a Sunday night and there are 5 people waiting! 1 person had been admitted to a room in the last hour. At about hour 3, I was told that I was under "fast track", and the lady that was calling patients into the room (LeAnne), stated she didn't realize it was Sunday and the fast track was closed. I went in for back survey. At my Preop appt I was assured that my pain would be taken very seriously What a joke! I had 5 to 7 nurses taking care of me, and not one of them could do their job right. They did not treat my pain and actually told me if I felt the need to stay another night, I would not be treated for my pain. Back surgery is extremely painful, and you would think nurses of all people would know that. They had me in tears. I felt like a piece of shit. By far the worst experience of my life.
Horrible hospital. I'm 100% sure if this was the only hospital in the world I'd rather just die in whatever condition I'm in. The nurses are very rude, the doctor as well & the emergency department moves slow as hell. I was told by a nurse people who come in ambulances come first, no matter how long you've been waiting. Ridiculous! Been here since 9 pm on 09/16/2017 ... it's 3 am & I'm stilllllll here, 6 freaking hours!
