Children's Hospital of Illinois was formally established as a pediatric hospital within the walls of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in 1990. However, as early as 1949, our pediatricians and other specialists pioneered the nation's first special care facility for premature infants. Each year, Children's Hospital has over 5,000 admissions; 2,000 newborn deliveries, and 16,000 emergency department visits. It is the third largest pediatric hospital in Illinois and the only full service tertiary hospital for children in central... read more

I worked there for thirty years I recommend OSF Children Hospital of Illinois to everyone
my daughter in 2001 got ESRD and she was transferred to OSF Childrens Hosp in Peoria PICU. she was put on peritoneal dialysis for 4 months getting a kidney transplant at age 12. it lasted for 12 years with all the ongoing help from OSF. her liver failed and OSF doesnt do liver transplants. we were lost but i mom took her to N.W. and then to Barnes where she got a double transplant another kidney and a liver. that was tough but she is now in her 6th year with her 2nd transplant. total almost 18 years transplanted. amen. we lo... read more
My twins spent 4 days on gen peds. Everyone, from the nurses to the doctors to the techs housekeepers and child life, were all amazing. We could not have asked for a better team to take care of our girls. We truly appreciate everyone that was a part of their team.
Everyone on staff was very kind and attentive to our every need. My granddaughter received excellent care! Thank you!
My Grandaughter has a great Specialist. He calls us at home personally. But from the time you check in and taken back to the exam rooms the Children and families are treated as if let's take your mind off of why your here everyone is Great
My daughter was born 10 weeks early we were there from May 15 to aug. 2nd. The nurses and doctors where wonderful where able to answer any and all of my questions, made our stay very easy!
my son was in there july 16 to the 19. the nurses were excellent and very informative to me of what was going on. the food was very good for being hospital food. my son really liked Sam the nurse who brought gifts for taking his medicine he didnt want to take them but he did.
My daughter got sick at about 5 weeks old and got put on the General Pediatrics Floor for 11 days. The nurses and drs there were beyond exceptional. They did everything they could to make sure my precious little girl was gonna be okay even when they had to fight with the IVS because they keep coming out or blowing a vein every few hours. They remained patient with me and took amazing care of us. Then about a month after we came home they sent us a card wishing us well and hoping she was still doing good. I 100% recommend the... read more
