Better options... – sure the atmosphere is ok. the menu is limited and the food is mediocre; even bad. I just think khin do down the road has better food, chai's thai is VERY authentic and fabulous, Azia (on Eat Street) has a wide range menu! Just say no on this one.
Excellent curry! – The sweet green curry was excellent, the best I have ever tasted. I asked for it to be made one notch hotter than normal and they did that. It was perfect. My husband ordered the fiery seafood entree and he said it was dreadfully bad (tasteless sauce and just not good). I wondered as we were leaving why we didn't send his back. Perfect for those who like to be treated like garbage. – The perfect uptown place to go if you love to put up with with bad service. Bartender was drunk/high on a Sunday evening unable to comprehend simple orders. Also had a magnificent condescending attitude to everyone she served. I paid $20 for a beer to simply escape the disgusting customer service...waiting for change would be like asking God for a Cadillac. I had much nicer interaction, though much lower expectation, at the McDonald's I went to later.
Absolutely delicious! – Best Thai I've had in the Cities! My curry was absolutely to die for and our server was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend giving Chiang Mai Thai a try!
Some of the best Thai food in town, great food and drink options, good decor and friendly staff. – I am a huge fan of Thai food, and this is hands down one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Minneapolis. I highly recommend the jalapeno cream cheese puffs, the chicken satay, the fresh spring rolls, and the curry dishes. I have never had something here that I didn't enjoy. Candlelit tables and a fun layout make this place feel cozy and relaxing. Great service, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place!
Best Thai in town – We were impressed with Chiang Mai Thai from the very moment we walked in. We asked the host if he knew if any of the menu items were gluten-free, and he handed us a special menu with gluten-free options. We were then lead around the beautifully decorred restaurant to our seat, all though we could have opted to eat outside as well. One of the best meals in Minneapolis – I was a bit leary after reading some of the reviews about the service, but noted that no one complains about the food, so we gave it a try. My wife and I went on a Saturday night at 7pm without a reservation, and we were seated by 720pm. We had the fired scallops for an appetizer and the panang curry and green cuur for our entree's. Outstanding! – Visiting from New York, I was so excited to find a restaurant in which the Thai food was better than anywhere in my city of origin. In fact, I haven't had Thai this good in about ten years. Outstanding taste and fresh ingredients seems to be key at Chiang Mai. I feel so lucky to have stumbled into this place. Good Thai food excellent price – My wife and I went here on valentines day. I had called a little over a week early to make a reservation. When we got to the restaurant we were greeted and promptly taken to our seat. There were no long waits in between things. The food was excellent and we got more than we were expecting.
