Standing 2,407 ft. above sea level, it is no wonder why the local Creek Indians named this place Chaha, meaning high place.

Ran most of the trails inside the park yesterday. Trails were in great shape and well marked. Best I have ever seen them. Thanks to everyone who works in these trails, it is greatly appreciated.
One of the best State Parks in the United States! Lots of History in the Resort & Tower area & also all along the (Alabama Pinhoti Trail) which is easily accessed from the Park.
Drive to Cheaha today was beautiful. Went to the restaurant for lunch, it was crowded so we expected a wait. After 55 minutes we were seated. The buffet was such a disappointment. On the salad bar there was no lettuce, at the main buffet there was no meat. When a server came by we told her and the response was that the cook was cooking as fast as she could.
