I went to this doctor about 17 years ago with knee swelling. He took X-rays and said I had an astounding loss of cartilage for a woman my age --then mid 40s. He knew: 1) that my right patella had twice been dislocated and 2) that I had audible crepitus in both knees in my teens. Recently, my usual guy who took X-rays. Turns out the joint space between my femur and tibia is picture perfect (could Hanby have maybe told me that?). Dr. Heintzelman has rebuilt both of my shoulders, as well as the shoulders of a couple colleagues. He has a great bedside manner and is a fantastic surgeon!
