I had knee surgery July 25, 2017. This was my first time ever as a patient in Windber. I was treated wonderfully! Greeted everywhere! The absolute best care! The asu rooms are older but clean. You have to get used to the halls and read the signs for directions. I am very glad my doctors are here and not in Johnstown.

I had a horrible experience on July 2nd. I went in with blood running down my leg covered by a towel and it took 2.5 hours to get to the triage room. Then after that I got sent to the back waiting room where I received a shot from a nurse who wasn't wearing gloves. Then about 2 hours later I finely made it to a room where my open wound sat open for another 45 minutes. Then today I went to med express where I found out that I got an infection and it was probably due to the lack of cleaning the wound and not wearing gloves.

People are quick to point out the negatives so I just wanted to shout out the ED for their fast and friendly service yesterday. My husband cut his hand pretty bad and was immediately seen and taken care of. Not only was Dr. Stewart kind, he did some teaching and provided us with several laughs!!

We had an absolutely awful experience at the ER today. My 13 year old hurt his wrist and we waited over two hours to be taken to a room after his X-ray. The doctor was incredibly unfriendly and unprofessional. The whole process took over 4 hours and I asked three times for some kind of pain medicine for my son who was crying in pain for four hours! We were given Tylenol with codeine to take home, he was never given pain medication while he was there. The triage nurse said he would try to find an ice pack but never did. We wa... read more

My husband slipped while delivering mail in Windber. He was taken to the ER at 12:00. Took a half an hour just to see a triage nurse. I just got a text from him at 3:00 and he is STILL waiting to see a Dr. This is unacceptable!!! Thank God his injury wasn't more serious!!!!!

Went tonight to have a small peice of glass removed from my finger. I tried to remove it myself but couldn't reach it decided to come see what they could do for me. Wound up sitting in the er for an hour while the nurses belittled me and talked of me not more than a ft away from me. Where my fiancee and I hear every word. Left in tears, the only good experience I had from tonight was the Dr taking care of my finger. Reporting the nurses, praising the Dr who took care of me but I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I'll take a trip t... read more
