My visits with Dr. Carsten Kampe at Texoncology are more than just medical notes, and tests. Dr Kampe is caring, professional and astute to all of the factors in treating and keeping cancer patients at their best. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Kampe is an outstanding oncologist—brilliant, compassionate, and truly dedicated to his patients. He explains everything clearly, listens with care, and gives both hope and confidence. A rare doctor who combines expertise with genuine kindness.

While I admire my doctor Immensely, I always get the feeling that he becomes frustrated with me, because I don't consent to chemo. I have very high blood pressure, have an immune disorder with allergic reactions to almost every kind of medication. Am not looking for sympathy, but wish there was more understanding of my point of view.
Professional, compassionate care. Appreciate that the clinic always runs on time and is careful about notifying patients if a schedule change is necessary in advance. Also appreciate that he has clinic hours locally sparing the the 40 minute one way drive to his primary office.
When one discovers they have terminal cancer, the shock, the fear,...are overwhelming. A different doctor initially misdiagnosed me. I chose to see Carsten for a 2nd opinion. Despite a very busy schedule, he saw me quickly. He diagnosed me properly, prescribed a life regimen that has given me high quality of life, and continues to check on me often. Kampe has been an absolute blessing in my Cancer journey. I was referred to him by my breast Surgeon and I was FLOORED that his team called to schedule my initial consult almost immediately. I was quickly able to get in to meet him at the South Austin location.
