No matter what night this place is always jammed and offers a large enclosed patio year round. Eggplant Parmesan makes for a wonderful main course, as do the many traditional pasta dishes. The extensive wine list offers a wide variety of reasonably priced selections. Most of the entrees serve two or more people. Valet parking available.

Penn is money well spent – The service is excellent, the portions serve for 2 with great leftovers. The atmosphere is romantic. The wine selection is good. Usually there are no screaming children around, a major plus.
Carmine's on Penn or in the Pen? – After the buildup from friends (maybe they aren't really friends?) I expected much better from Carmine's (it's my son's namesake!) Carmine's is supposed to be a family style restaurant but the family better consists of all adults. It is NOT kid friendly. The portions are large but deceptive. Get to what's good!!! – Went here for our 2nd year anniversary. This is one of the best restaurant we've ever been to. Great food, friendly servers, romantic atmosphere, simply amazing.
An old favorite, but its debateable – Friends raved about this place, so I finally made it there last week. I was amazed at how many 20 and 30 somethings flocked through the front door considering this place only offers family style dishes - not exactly what I've thought to be THE place for that age group. Too noisy for romantic – Carmine's on Penn has great food, but most romantic. How can you be romantic when you can't hear the person talking? It's too noisy there for my romantic evenings.
Best Service???? – Did someone really put this place down for the best service? Every complaint I've ever heard is about the wait and rude service. Pack em in and get em out is the rule of thumb for this place.

Extremely disappointed! – I was very disappointed with my visit to Carmine's on August 4th to celebrate a birthday. We made a reservation for five people for a nice location at Carmine's. We ended up near the doorway which meant the bathroom traffic passed by us. It was so noisy (Sunday night) we couldn't hear our waitress give the menu. She didn't do a good job explaining the menu either. The bomb service – Everytime I go to carmines we get treated like royality. Smilie, the manager, is so great. The servers are alwsays friendly and prompt.
