Mrs. I've gone in the Fairfax, VA Calico Corners several times in jeans, an average looking top, and hair twisted up in a clip, and I've never gotten anything but prompt, friendly, service with a smile. In fact, in one week, over the course of 4 visits, different designers have spent at least 8 hours with me. I didn't look like a Walmart frequent flyer--I did have on makeup and my wedding and anniversary rings, which are diamond, but aren't huge rocks. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about.
Fabric Store for the Rich and Famous? This store only caters to the lawyers' wives, the doctors' wives and anyone with money. I do know a interior designer that ONLY purchases from there, but her only customers are also lawyers and doctors. Do I need to say more?
Good last resort You would be surprised what you can find at stores like Walmart and K Mart. They sell fabric too, and at low prices. If you can't find what you want however,Calico Corners is a good place to go. I don't like the people or the prices, but they have a lot of fabric.
SNOBS? OH YEAH! This is over priced fabric. DOn't go in there wearing sweat pants cause the women there will think you can't afford fabric. They didn't even want to help me till i came back in heels and a suit.
Great fabrics - Good value I like this store for the variety of fabrics they offer in stock. You can also order other fabrics and even custom draperies or furniture. Service is good - and personalized. Staff is very knowledgable and helpful.
