BEST FOOD ON EARTH – This is my absolute favorite place in the world to eat. It is so good. I like to get the salad with the creamy dressing. It is so good. I strongly recommend it.

Best Mexican fast food at sit down price – This is the best Mexican "fast food" in Utah. This is NOT the best Mexican food by a long shot. Try the Red Iguana, it IS the best. The food at Cafe Rio is good, but it is over priced for the quantity of the entree. There is way too much filler (shredded lettice, beans & rice), and not enough substance (small amount of meat in the burrito or taco). The salads are the thing to order here, especially with the lime dressing. Pass on Yolanda's lime pie; but do try the coconut flan. If I... read more

Lost it in all the success – Unfortunately, Cafe Rio is a victim of its own success. They have become so desensitized to the sheer volume of their business that they are cavalier about turning away business. Try a lunch-time phone in. The message will tell you all the things you cant do. If/when you reach a live person again, apathetic and desensitized to the guest. While we love the food, this is a very easily copied business model. Bring on the competition. Oh by the way, they are almost paranoid that someone with take thi... read more

it's a taco stand -what can I say! – The secret here is to go during the off hours - otherwise you wait in this ridiculous line and shout your order several times to a harried bunch behind the counter. Our tacos (salmon) and beef burritos were good altho skimpy on the meat. They add alot of "fluff" beans, rice, salad (it's tasty cause it is "limed" up -and we love lime - but we are paying for the meat! Gayly decored with signs warning you not to save table! Fairly good food, but pricey considering the content.

Cannot compare – With complete meals under $5.00 this is inexpensive. Sure the wait is long--but, worth it. It is best to plan ahead and not wait last minute. For take-out orders, they take the food out of the bag and verify that the food they are giving you is indeed what you ordered. Does Taco Bell do that? How many times have you gotten the wrong order from the drive thru window at Taco Bell? Eating fresh made, delicious food is the way to go.

I recommend Cafe Rio to everyone. The food is very good and has a great flavor and richness to it. The price is very affordable and even though you may have to expierence a long wait in the line, its definitly worth it. When you oreder your food from the front of the line you watch the cooks prepare it and you can see that all the food is fresh and doesnt start with out you.

There's a reason for the line – At most times of the day you'll find yourself at the end of a very long line when you walk inside a Cafe Rio. Some people tend to be discouraged by that, but not me. I find it comforting, actually. I think any place that is so popular you have an inevitable 20 minute wait in line must be a winner. Cafe Rio's food tends to lean towards the "fresh mex" trend, and in my opinion, it's the leader in that category. So yes, I will file through the cattle corral-like line like everyone before me, beca... read more
