What are you whining about? – Long lines? Yes. That is because so many people love the food. Long wait? Not in comparison to how many people are actually in line. Waiting 20 minutes when standing behind 60 people is not that bad. Great food? The best. Living in Boston you would think I have a plethora of great Mexican food given Bostons reputation for fine dining. Not so. Even what Zagat Survey claims as Bostons best Mexican food doesnt come close to that at Cafe Rio. Why do you think it can be hard to get a call in order? B... read more

Not Worth Waiting For – The food is good. I have struggled with an addiction to the chicken salad. The service, parking, wait time have helped me overcome my addiction. It becomes such a hassle and bad experience to get the food, that ultimately it is not worth the wait. The only way to keep my business is to open a location closer to the city center, pick up the pace and get rid of the blaring oldies music.

I'm hooked! – Great affordable Mexican food! No matter how many times I visit Cafe Rio for take out, I never get sick of it. The good is great, very consistent, and you can't beat the price. Try it and you'll be hooked!

If your looking for a fun atmosphere, delicious food that's incredibly fresh and affordable, try Cafe Rio. Caution: you will become addicted! The salads are piled high with your choice of steak, chicked, or a sweet bbq pork. The creamy tomatio dressing is to die for. Just as long as your willing to stand in line, because this place always packed.

Top-quality Mexican fast food, if you can survive the long lines. – The Scene Bright and airy in a brand-new building--smack next to longtime SLC favorite, Cafe Silvestre. You'll wait a while to order and get your food, but there's plenty of room to sit down and eat. The process is confusing for first-timers: wait, wait, wait...then yell your order. A few moments later, you've got to identify your meal again when they ask you about choice of salsa and toppings. Then wait again as the lone cashier quizzes you once more. The F... read more

not as good as the people think – I love to fight for a parking place, wait in a Disneyland type line for a LONG time, and talk to restaurant employees with complete indifference to your requests, complaints, and/or desires. That is why I dine at Cafe Rio. The food is good, but not worth ALL of the many hassles. Perhaps the most irritating is the fact that they are closed on Sunday. Don't people need to eat on Sunday, too? I'll just go somewhere else more covenient, open all the time, with better food, and less stressful...M... read more

Food quality declining – Food quality has decreased over the last few years. When it first opened, the food was fabulous. Now it is fairly average. It's still a great value and a good place to eat.

Horrible Customer Service – Today a friend and I each ordered salads to go. When we got back to the office (and were about 1/3 through our salads) she noticed a huge fly in hers. She called the restaurant to complain and she was told that sometimes things like that happen and all they could do was give her a free dessert next time she came in. In my opinion, things like that don't just "happen", it is the result of unclean food handling procedures and insufficient lettuce washing.

Perfect! – I wanted to take my 2 teenage sisters and my brother to lunch for their birthdays, and my other sister decided that Cafe Rio was the place. The wait was about 20 minutes, but it gave me time to chat with my sisters. When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised by the $32 tab for 3 salads, 1 burrito, extra guacamole, and 4 drinks. What a deal, and they all LOVED the food. I LOVE this place...the food is excellent and SO affordable.
