MAybe the cheapest tapas bar in downtown with the worst waistaff crew – There are too many good places to eat in Chicago to put up with the unbelievably poor service that you will receive at this restaurant. Reservations seem to be an enormous problem for the management of Iberico you can expect them to either lose it or unilaterally cancel it on the day of your reservation (I've now experienced both). The poor service starts at the top and carries down to the wait staff. I don't want to criticize all of the waiters, but our... read more

Cafe Iberico – Ever since visiting Granada, Spain (said to be the birthplace of tapas) in 2004 I'm always on the hunt for a good tapas place. Unfortunately this place is not. I was looking forward to eating this place because I've heard so much about it but it left me disappointed. We had the clams, chicken skewers, chorizo plate and the octopus. The chicken skewers were good though, with caramelized onions and alioli-- it was a good blend of flavors. The octopus with french fries was okay, it needed a li'l kick to it 'coz i... read more

Terrible at best! – I have lived here for two years and only heard great things about this 'restaurant' so I was happy to try it. But then sadly dissapointed. The food was awful! I ordered squid and they mixed it with french fries. If I wanted french fries I would have gone to McDonalds. The service was terrible, they seemed to be annoyed with my request for water and a glass of wine. When the food came, it was cold and gross, and not to mention the menu has pictures on it, I thought this place would be great, and was not ev... read more

Good value and FUN – It's always a crazy scene at Iberico, but once you get down to drinking and eating, it's great. The tapas isn't the best I've ever tasted, but it's cheap and bigger portions than I've seen anywhere. And the red sangria is super cheap and killer! Really, it will get you when you stand up!

Best Sangria ever!!! – I cannot tell you how wonderful the sangrias are. The white sangria is especially dear to my heart. Pretty loud and crowded most of the time. Not the place to go for a quiet evening out. Great tapas!!! Try the mussels and clams!! Great prices!! Service is average. Parking is frustrating so just valet it.

Good Price, Shaky Atmosphere – This place was a great deal for the price. I was able to try a variety of items and didn't spend a lot. I did feel like they were limited in somethings for example they had a few different kinds of potatoes and some of the cold tapas items seemed to be pretty similar. The presentation did leave something to be desired, but they food was pretty good.

Affordable! – I went to Cafe Ibaraco with friends on a Saturday night. The valet service that night seemed to be hiding when I drove past it a couple of times which was very frustrating and I ended up parking in a lot a few blocks down. The hostesses need to speak some English because it was hard communicating with them just getting a name down on the waiting list. As we waited for about 30 minutes for our table we ordered drinks at the bar and the bartender was VERY nice! We were seated in a basement which was ok and our wa... read more

Very disappointing – I arranged a group dinner for my company based on the fact that this restaurant came up in a "Best Group Dining" search on CitySearch. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, and not in a quaint way. When you enter the restaurant, you have to walk through a dirty, smokey bar. Our party was put in the damp, dark, musty-smelling basement of the restaurant. The waitress was unhelpful and unenthusiastic. I had to pull information out of her about the menu and tappas-style dining in general. The food was so-so ... read more

Best Tapas in the city – The food is great for the price. The croquetas are the best thing on the menu and the oysters are good. I do not recommend horseradish request it to be put aside. The only down side is that since this is such a great restaurant you need to go early like about 6 to get seated because after that it become about 1-2 hour wait. During the week it's still a bit busy, but not as hard to get seated as on a Friday or Saturday.
