Love Cabo 3rd Street – I go to Cabo 3rd street all the time. Happy hour is cheap. Food isnt really great-but its a BAR! Typical drunken crowd, cute waitresses (although I havent seen my favorite waitress in some time)...friendly bartenders...
Ok – We had a decent time here, its fun if you live close by and have no where else to go... I wouldn't advise using the bathrooms if you can help it.
OVER RATED – cheezy, drunk crowd, over priced "2 for 1" happy hour, smokey, small seating areas, not enough restrooms, rude or stupid wait staff (didn't care to find out), marginal food.
Cool Laker game spot – Caught game 4 of the NBA Finals here. The waitresses were all polite and very fast in bringing us our drinks. From my research, this was the only spot that didn't attempt to overcharge patrons in L.A. during the Finals. Regardless of the high-profile L.A. sporting event being played --much to my surprise -- drinks were still 2-1. That alone warrants a 5-star rating. Waitress forgot Happy Hour – A bunch of us went there for happy hour. The waitress has forgotten that it was happy hour and brought everybody only one drink (while happy hour you will get two drinks for the price of one). When we reminded her politely she apologized and brought us the other drinks. The bar was pretty crappy though, with dirty tables, chaos and jam packed. A Santa Monica hangout to booze and hook up somebody.
Rude & Terrible Service – Rude and worst service I've ever had anywhere. The place was busy, but took 25 minutes and complaining to the only people I could find, security before waitress came to take order. Then another 20 minutes passed and still no drink. The waitress seemed to want to spend her time carrying on conversations with other customers and having shots of tequila with them. overrated – This is another place that proves how lazy america has become. The food is marginal at best. The best thing on the menu (the pizza) is a pale immitation of true Chicago pizza. There are so many restaurants that serve far better food at a reasonable price. On a positive note, the bar is exceptional. They have a tremendous selection of beer. There is a great, lively atmosphere.
College Vibes – Great spot for day drinking and bringing back the nostalgic feel of a college party! The happy hour has some good deals and the special events that occur ocasionally here are usually pretty crowded. The best part about this place was the crowd and the service (one in the same). Best bar in Newport Beach!!! – Cabo Cantina is the best bar in Newport Beach. I love the Margaritas and the Sunset Rolls (some type of mexican appetizer). Definately a party college-type bar. Weekend afternoons is a great place to spend some time when at the beach. Watch out for the upselling waitresses and bartenders (constantly trying to get you to spend more money).
