The collard greens and mashed root vegetables were amazing. The hushpuppies were flawless. The pulled pork was excellent. The quarter chicken was perfection. The strawberry-rhubarb pie was incredible especially with the lemon crème fraîche ice cream on top. Skip the waffle fries. They're really good, but they're only waffle fries and everything else had so much flavor. Why no black-eyed peas? Y'all would do brilliant things to black-eyed peas. I deeply desire to eat black-eyed peas at the same level as all your other foods.
You know it's going to be good if there's a line waiting on you to open. The atmosphere was awesome and I loved the open kitchen. I had the pork sandwich and hush puppies. Delicious! RIP "Vic Vinegar!"
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff! Everything was tasty, but the pimiento cheese, hash and fried chicken sandwich were our favorites. Very happy we chose to eat here!
Slow service, limited menu and a smoke induced migraine is what you'll get.

Everything was so good. Big chicken sandwich, Huge, pulled pork and the pimento app. fabulous. I had the Family tradition to drink. Our waiter was Mario, friendly and very knowledgeable. We certainly return.

I have lived in AVL for 15 yrs . I have had ALL the BBQ , Buxton is the best !
I thought it was very average. I had the whole hog plate.The meat was room and lacked flavor. Bummer of the meal was the aloof hipster waitress that was generous with the, "great another family from out of town eye roll". I suppose I had my hopes up and was just met down. Probably will not go back.
