Exceptionally poor service. Food mediocre. Took way too long to plate a BBQ sandwich. Don't know what all the fuss is about.
Worst BBQ I've had in Asheville. I lived in Asheville for 10 years now. We ordered the chicken plate (you'd think a BBQ place could do BBQ chicken) it was $15+ and the two sides it came with were in salad dressing sized bowls. They were also out of corn bread. They completely cater to the tourist that is going to pay high prices but never come back.
Great food, beer and atmosphere. I highly recommend eating here. The bartender Jody was outstanding.
I went for their "Pig Picking second anniversary" buffet yesterday. It was fabulous!! Wish they had the buffet everyday!!!
Excellent rendition of my fav Kenny's Hemingway shout out! But took one hour to get the plate then it was lukewarm. Attentive friendly waitress and not her fault!
From the waffle fries poutine to my buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, everything was INSANELY good. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. My boyfriend had the catfish plate and could not stop raving about it. Our friend had the bbq pulled pork sandwich and all our food was gone in minutes. The atmosohere is wicked cool as well. We left with t-shirts and as locals, we'll be back!
Great food and excellent staff! Showed up right before the eclipse and they didn't bat an eye...very accommodating.
After waiting in line to be seated we were turned away at the hostess stand as they were "no longer seating people" for the night (at 7pm).... Heard it was amazing. Guess we'll never know.
Just ate at and just left Buxton Hall Barbecuck. Smoked chicken was not smoked but baked. Ribs had to be sawed apart with a knife. Terrible, just terrible. I've heard so many great things about this place and either everyone was lying to me or everyone in the kitchen was high and just said "fuck it, drench everything in bbq sauce and they won't tell a difference."
