Had the pleasure of dining here for the first time last evening. The service was superb! We had the Brussels and Pate first and they were absolutely delicious!!!!! My husband had the burger special and I had the ricotta/charred carrot entree with roasted veal. My husband was very pleased! My dish was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, however it was super salty! I love salt and this dish was even too salty for me! Ordered the grilled fillet, the potatoes were undercooked, asked for replacement and they brought the same raw ones but burnt outside.
Service is awful. Waitress not doing her job. Manager serving us.
Amazing dinner and the Scallops were cooked perfectly. When I visit Pittsburgh again I will definitely go back.

Butcher in the Rye has taken its place in my top 10 restaurants throughout my life. The drinks, amazing. The food, delectable. But the level of service overall was over some 4 or 5 stars I've visited. I'll be recommending this place to any one looking for a great dinner experience
