Busy Bee Cafe

4.1

About this business

The Busy Bee is a hometown favorite for no-nonsense, down-home cooking. The locals outnumber tourists, a telling indicator of the Busy Bee's style. Red faux-leather booths line one wall, opposed by an old-time diner-style counter with red false-leather topped stools. No fancy New Southern pretenses here, just bona fide Dixie standbys like fried chicken, oxtails, smothered pork chops, fresh fried corn, greens, and candied yams. The marriage of soul food and Southern tradition is a happy one, and it comes pretty cheap, too.

Food was good, I had ribs very tender and my husband had smothered chicken. They forgot to put the rice on plate. Took awhile to get the waitress attention. Finally she came after he was almost finished. I wanted desert but was never asked felt like we were being rushed out. Other than waiters not giving good service. Busy Bee Cafe will glow fast out of that small building. Blessings!

The best soul food in Atlanta, but be prepared to wait (and get hungry waiting) for a table or to take out, as the restaurant is always filled to capacity with long wait times to sit/eat.
