About this business

Editorial fromThe line begins almost before the restaurant even opens. This small, unassumingly decorated restaurant knows how appealing it is since it is audaciously titled Burma Superstar. Burmese cuisine, as authentic as you can get it stateside, is…

asty!!! Different. Worth going to again Bottom-line: Tasty!!! Different. Worth going to again - and I will! 3.5 stars. Burma SuperStar has been on my list for years. I never went 'cause it was "out there" in the avenues, but finally I had a chance. Very happy for it. Still, about 15% PRICER than Chinese/Vietnamese/Indian take-out I might normally do. SCENARIO: called in for take-out after work. Picked up food at 545PM. PARKING: A chore! It's on Clement between 4th and 5th. I ended up parking illegally and running in to get m... read more

Hidden Treasure Off the beaten path in Richmond, this cozy family run Burmese restaurant has managed to create quite the following. They do not take reservations, so upon arriving at 7:45 we had to write our name on a dangling clipboard with instructions from the waitress to go get a drink and wait for her to call us. An hour later, starving, we were finally seated. The wait was worth it!! The 20 ingredient salad was the best thing we tried with the fiery Tofu and Chicken in 2nd place. The ambiance is very causal, authentic ... read more

Burma Super Star has fantastic food! I love this restaurant. I dont agree with the other reviewers comment that its a "hidden gem" since there is usually an hour wait to get inside, but its well worth the wait anyway! If you're with a groups its a good idea to order family style and share the dishes so you can try lots of the fantastic menu items.

Great Restaurant- Busy This place is always very busy, but they have implemented a system that allows you to leave your cell number and go visit one of the local coffee houses/bars while you wait. Food is delicious, I reccoment the Thai Peanut/Ginger Salad and the Spicy Sesame Chicken. The coconut rice is very nice. Service is sometimes slow, and they do not always bring all the meals out together.

One of the Best Restaurants in San Francisco I'm not picky or easily wowed. But this restaurant reverberates in my stomach and my soul. For most people, it's a trek to the Richmond district, but this up and coming section of foggy Clement street is well worth the pilgrimage. Everything on their menu is yummy, and the only thing we wanted when we ate there was more.

Very very tasty. I can't really make a comparison between this and other Burmese restaurants as this is the only one I've ever eaten in. But comparing it to other restaurants, I will say that the food is delightful though. The only issue is that everyone seems to know that it is a great restaurant and so there is very often a line--at least when you want to eat. I have found that it is easy to get a seat on a Sunday afternoon; but in the evenings assume there will be a 30 minute wait. As a comparison it is similar to Indones... read more

Amazing Burmese Food! This restaruant has amazing food, and its always packed which I take as a good sign. They have great dishes ranging from chicken to fish, to noodles and salads. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly.

Just want good food. Sucked, this restaurant was recommended by someone on the street and figured I'd try it. Incredible rip-off, surprisingly it was crowded and I can't figure out why. Possibly it is just super-hyped but the waitress was like a used car salesman, agressively recommended anything that was the most expensive and the portion on the rainbow salad was sad. The waiter asks if you've ever had it and then proceeds to explain how there are four kinds of noodles in it for 11.00 dollars. It tasted like a bad Thai sala... read more

the rainbow salad is a must try. there are so many ingredients in it - that it is truly unique. also, dont be frustrated with the long line, walk around clement street - check out park life gallery or grab a drink nearby.
