Crappiest pool hall ever – The owners of this dump did an extremely poor job laying it out. Almost all of the pool tables have a corner obstructed by huge support beams. Why would you open a pool hall where the majority of the tables require use of a "shorty" stick? Lame, lame, lame.
A good place – I go to Buffalo Billiards often. I love the happy hour - $3.00 well drinks and half off appetizers. The bartenders are extremely friendly and the service is good 99% of the time. It doesn't get super crowded and its just a fun place to be.
Good – good spot to watch sports, they are nice enough during the big games to turn off the jukebox. if you are in olde city and dont feel pretentious, stop by buffalo billiards.
No tight shirts here. – Buffalo Billiards is a bar for real people. The staff is extremely friendly, so you won't have to put up with bartenders with attitudes like you do at some other Olde City joints. And please leave your tight shirts and skirts at home. Jeans and a t-shirt are all you need! And you'd better have some taste in music, because the juke box is getting good!
Great Atmosphere – I recently moved away from Philly after living there for five years. On a recent visit back I was happy to see Buffalo Billards, a staple in Washington D.C. It was clean, uncrowded, had great couches for seating, and friendly, attentive staff. After inching my way through the ever overcrowded Plough & Stars, I was very happy to find reprieve at Buffalo Billards. A definite must for those tired of crowded Philly bars...great view from the top floor lounge too!
Great Atmosphere without Attitude – What a fun spot! Laid back but lively, good atmosphere, great drinks, great munching possibilities, and, of course, the pool. Even for lousy players like me, this place is a blast. Not at all intimidating, like other pool halls I've been to in NYC and other cities. And lacking that "attitude" that so many other places in Old City have. This is the perfect place to stop in for a while, and then stay for the night!
Three strikes – Ive been to this place twice and both times was a letdown. First, its too expensive if you just want to play pool. A serious pool player can find a much better bargain. Second, the food was OK as bar grub goes, but it was nothing special. Third, the employees were unbelievably rude the second time I went there. Maybe it was an off night, but I will never go back again.
Fun in Old City – Buffalo Billiards is one of the few places in Old City that you can relax, enjoy an unusual variety of brews and play pool in an upscale environment. The lounge upstairs (with pool tables) is cozy and comfortable. The staff here does there very best to accommadate their patrons. I dont agree with the review of greasy bar food. The menu is enviting and the food is pretty good. Get in here soon because this place has only been open a short time and it is already rockin.
A Great Hang Out Spot – It's about time we had a great billiards place in Philadelphia! Buffalo Billiards has everything: fun, food, and lots pool tables. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. I expect that people will plan to stop in for a drink and a single game of pool and end up spending the entire evening.
