This place is magical. I love working here and look forward to being here each day. The residents are treasures with rich libraries of life stories that need to be heard/told. The staff are wonderful - warm, friendly, caring, compassionate. I'm so grateful to get to work here!
My mom was there for rehab from a broken hip. They have no idea how to care for dementia patients. The day we arrived while in the dining room in front of all the other patients and staff we are told by her physical therapist she will never probably walk again. Because of her dementia. I told her to be quite and step out to the hallway and she still proceeded to tell us in front of everyone including Mom her prognosis is grim. That was the first of many terrible experiences. There simply aren’t enough words to express our appreciation for the care and compassion the staff at Brookdale have shown my Mom ( and our entire family ). This is an amazing place filled with exceptional professionals and residents . There is simply no better place in Austin . It’s a piece of retirement heaven !!
