About this business

Located across the street from our original deli, Broders' Cucina Italiana, Broders' Pasta Bar has taken the art of fresh pasta one step further. While the Cucina sells pasta to customers who want to cook at home, the pasta bar was designed to delight our customers with pasta cooked the way it is meant to be. Each of the 22 or so pasta and risotto on the menu are cooked to order and served steaming hot. Those seated at the bar get the best view of our pasta chefs cooking their dish, which is always 'al dente' and carefully t... read more

Broders is simply awful. If you want dry, flavorless, overpriced pasta, go here. – This place is awful. I can't believe how popular it is! I got take-out last night. I asked the host/server what she recommended if we were looking for one flavorful, garlicky, tomato pasta dish and one cheesy pasta dish. She recommended the penne alla puttanesca with the addition of spicy sausage and extra sauce(#20) and the tagliarini di Locanda del Lupo (#18) respectively. Well, flavorful and cheesy they were not. The puttanesca was a lot of... read more

FABULOUS FOOD but lacking in service – Italian food like they actually make in Italy . This place is not for those who only like American-style Italian. Food is fresh as can be. Salads are scrumptious and bread is crusty and delicious. The location is quaint, but this also means everything is a tight squeeze - parking, waiting, even seating. But the food is consistently good. If you have a party of 3 or more during a weekend - forget it. This is true unless you have the required allotted number of persons for reservations, w... read more

A Proven Winner – This is one of my favorite places in the state, and I am lucky enough to live right around the corner. The pasta is always cooked to perfection, which is a simple task that is often not executed as well as it could be in many restaurants. The menu is fresh and exciting with new and exciting combinations routinly showing up. If you want classic Spag & Meatballs, you can get a great version of it here, but why not branch out as there flavor combinations are extravagant and well executed. The variety of protei... read more

Fabulous and Unique – I have visited Broder's several times and have never been disappointed. Yes, the wait is often long, but the atmosphere and excellent fare are worth it!

Great Pasta Bar! – I love any place that I can go in, sit at a bar, and watch my food being prepared not too far away! If you are lucky enough to actually get a seat in this place, request a seat at the bar, unless you have a large party. Broders is a wonderful place to sit and have a romantic dinner. The gentlemen behind the bar was very helpful in suggesting things to order and also offered great conversation when we were looking for it. I would highly recommend ordering the roasted garlic, as it was the best prepared garl... read more

The End – After a longstanding with Broders - both the restaurant and the deli - we are never returning. My family and I have been going to Broders since I can remember eating pasta. I don?t live in Minneapolis anymore, but have not missed Broders on a trip back since I left over the past 15 years. Tonight my mother and I went at 6:00 pm ? the restaurant was not full ? there were 6 4-top tables and about 10 seats at the bar available. My mother and I asked for a table, as it is such a rare special occasion to have a nice, qu... read more

Best Pasta in Town – This is a frequent stop for me since it is in my neigborhood, has great food from scratch, friendly service and everyday prices. The patio in summer is so beautiful and the wine list is the most affordable in town. Altogether a great experience. Just call ahead because waits are long!

Don't miss out! – Broders is awesome! The fresh pasta made in house, a seasonally changing menu (but they keep the tried and true classics for the ones that are stuck on a particular dish--#11 anyone?) and a great wine list make this a true neighborhood gem. It does get busy and it is best to call ahead, but the servers make you comfortable with a glass of wine and there is a great patio to sit and enjoy the evening, chat with your dining companions and wait for your table.

AWFUL! – To put it simple, DO NOT GO HERE! Salad, horrible. Ravioli, awful. Dessert, ridiculous. And to top it off, the service was lacking. Our waitress was rude, and seemed to be in pain if we ever asked for something, even if it was just a glass of water. Please, dont believe any positive hype about this place. BAD!
