Excellent "we feel like something more special than a diner" dinner place – What a lovely restaurant! The food is American comfort with a nice, upscale twist. It had the feel of a really comfortable diner yet the food was more than standard fare. The beer and wine selection was also pleasantly eclectic. friendly staff, great value – Fun place, had dinner there this weekend with a group of friends. Shared a couple of apps, potstickers and jambalaya cakes were great. Loved the braised short ribs. Also, nice selections of beers. Didn?t get dessert but they looked homemade.
Just average, Nothing special – I ordered a burger medium rare, but it was welldone and burnt. Food is ok nothing special. I don't think it's worth the price. It's a nice place. I like the seating outside. I just dont like the food or the drinks there. Cocktails test like juice.
Terrible Service, lousy food. – Would not recommend this place for restaurant week at all. Ordered the fillet mignon and asked for it to come out medium rare. When the steak arrived it was not 8 oz like advertised and looked like a steak someone went to acme and bought the cheap fillets to give out. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant mash and I've never been to restaurant that puts gravy on top a fine meat such as fillet. Boubon salmon to die for – Bridget Foy is a South Street institution. Great food--especially the boubon salmon, which you can only get in the summer--but worth the wait!
Great Sunday Brunch or Late Night – The food is excellent and offers seasonal menu items. The beers that are on tap are all local and match-up well with the restaurants eclectic menu. Crab cakes These are the best crab cakes outside of Baltimore. The cakes are filled with fresh crabs and are so juicy and succulent. They also have great american dishes. The salads are fresh and dressed well. The appetizers are good and the seafood is cooked on the grill. The bar is also well stocked and have various beers on tap.
South Street spot serving up burgers and cocktails. – In Short This independent bar and grill endures amid encroaching chain imitators. Dark wood and dim lighting create an ever-present evening effect. A long strip of outdoor tables includes diners in the sidewalk scene. While the menu does offer eclectic options, it is heavy on '80s barroom standbys. The best entree may be the 12-ounce burger with its juice melting into a chewy Italian bun.
