The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

A relaxing, clean place to eat with friendly servers, and delicious food. You always feel "at home".
I would like to mention an excellent experience my family had today at Breitbachs. My mother is a nurse and only gets every sixth weekend off, so we decided to take a quick scenic drive from Dubuque to Sherrill for special treat on her weekend off.
