About this business
The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

Well every time we come back to Dubuque, our real home, we must all go to Breitbachs after all we are Breitbach's & Mike is our dads Special Cousin. It's a wonderful restaurant, the food is great, esp the chicken, my personal favorite. Our cousins work there! Always awesome food, if you choose to eat off the buffet which you will have more food then you know what to do with or if you order off the menu it is always amazing food and not to mention the country atmosphere that Mike and his staff always goes out of their way to make you feel great!

What a beautiful place. Food was great!!! Owner was beyond polite... went around to each table and talked to customers.

Was there last Tuesday for the lunch buffet. Italian chili, salad bar, wonderful rolls, boasted chicken, ham, brats, shrimp, stuffing, real mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. May have forgot something on there. Was my first time there and will probably try something off the menu next time. Saw some tenderloins being served and was envious! Also split a piece of Snickers Pie for dessert. Great food, highly recommended!!
Good price, good food, a nice drive in the country to get there, perfect.
