The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

Just love this place! Whenever we drive to Galena for a weekend we always try to make it up to Breitbachs! The food is always good and the pies are unbelievable! Mike is an incredible person and always welcoming! I highly recommend it!
we have visited there many times but this was our first time for their Fish Fry and it won't be the last !! Everything was home made down to the noodles in the soup !! Our biggest surprise was the Crab legs ...steamed to perfection . We just love coming here with their super friendly staff and homey atmosphere !!
