The place was completely gutted in 2006 and was rebuilt again. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful oysters, seafood platter and shrimps. It takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and the catch of the day is always worth trying out. You can also book private parties at this venue.

Amazing experience sitting on the outside deck watching the sunset � and shucking a tray of fresh steamed oysters! True low country vibe. Don’t be intimidated by the line- it goes by quickly and tables turned fast so seats are always available. A must-have when down in Charleston! (wish I could keep it a secret but various shows including “Ride with Norman Reedus” let the secret out!!)

Linda and I enjoyed a seafood dinner at the famous Bowens Island restaurant with a number of my Citadel Class of 1969 classmates. The physical structure has undergone numerous changes in the past 50 years, but the ambiance has remained the same. It was. Good time of fellowship. The staff was pleasant. We each had the seafood platter with fried shrimp for me and boiled shrimp for her. The food was generally tasty, but the quality was a bit uneven. I was disappointed that the hush puppies were cold.
