The only item on the menu I"d recommend is the Caesar salad...very ample portion and very fresh, lemony dressing. – The ribs are the WORST I've ever eaten......tough, tasteless and too sweet & sticky sauce. I would take them off the menu altogether. The salmon filet was overcooked. I would NOT go back to this place for food.
Great Ambience; Not so Great Food – The Blu Water Bistro restaurant is across the street from Greenlake (they offer 2 other locations in Seattle). The atmosphere is great; neighborhood feel, great people watching in the summer & parking in garage. The windows (almost floor to ceiling) open on nice days so it feels you are sitting outside. Great place to relax on a nice day. However, the food is another thing. The prices are high and the food not worthy. I ordered ravioli and it was swimming in the sauce (sauce was consistanc... read more
New changes ruined my perceptions – This was my favorite restaurant but not any more. There are new chef, new menu and new waiters there. Unfortunately those changes made it mach worse :( I was recommending this place to all my friends but now I would suggest some other destinations.
The focus is on the fun American fare rather than the eye candy at this urban eatery. – The Scene The urban, sexy formula that has its Lake Union sister location boiling over with crowds is toned down a bit here: Those not interested in body glitter and heels will feel right at home. The frat boys tend to congregate in the small bar; the lengthy L-shaped dining room comfortably accommodates those just strolling by and couples on first dates. Service is fluid and friendly. The Food Regulars cool off with the bistro's signatur... read more
Great atmosphere and service – I enjoyed my first visit to the Bluwater bistro at Greenlake. I went for brunch and was surprised at how friendly the service was. While I waited to meet a friend in one of their cushy chairs by the fire, I was brought coffee and some banana bread. The food was pretty good and big portioned. The only slight downer was the price. A little high for breakfast. But overall, with the service, location, and food, it's worth it in the end.
Uninspiring - the food, service and ambiance – Take an unseasoned hamburger, add a surly waitress, who rattles off the beer on tap at lightening speed, and you have the dining experience at BlueWater. The great location, overlooking all the activity at Greenlake, can't make up for lackluster food and unfriendly service. There are so many great pubs in Seattle- and this isn't one of them.
Disappointing, overpriced breakfast – BluWater Greenlake was a poor experience for breakfast. The food was disappointing and overpriced - my Texas Toast and Eggs came with stale cornbread and was way too soupy. My wife's french toast was soggy. It took longer to get our check than it took us to eat. Not an experience worth $25 for 2 entrees and coffee - we won't be returning. Be advised, as of today the menu prices are at least $1 higher than shown at the restaurant web site.
Better and Better – we eat at the bluwater by greenlake about twice a month. I have to say that the service and food gets better every single time we go there. The bar is fun and lively without being too packed or feeling like a pick up joint, and the dining room manages to be warm and romantic without being uptight. By far the best place in my neighborhood, no joke.
Yep, go here! – It doesn't get much better than this place, at least not for me. The location is ideal, the crowd is always lively, but not too excessive, and the food is reasonably priced and tastes great. After you're done eating, you can always go for a walk around the lake.
