About this business
For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". The food and service are excellent!!! The place is clean and cozy. Thank you we had a great dinner there last night.. Service is fast too. This is our second great experience eating there!

Just left and had my 3 little grandchildren with us and honestly they served the adults and ten minutes later the kids because apparently either the waiter or the chef forgot their order and it was only pasta so the kids were getting very hangery also we had made a reservation and they were not ready for us a party of 8 so we had to wait and our waiter was rude and incompetent and the food took an hour and 15 minutes till it came to our table sadly to say we won’t be going here again any time soon and we have been here befor... read more

Lovely lunch on outside patio. Food was very good.
Awesome night. Loved the outdoor dining. Service was spectacular. We had calamari app and it was amazing. Dinners were great. We had creme brûlée which was to die for. Can’t wait to go back
no waiting, nice friendly staff, food was great!
