For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". The local people had other ideas, though. Convinced the building was far too large to ever be a success they nicknamed it "Tommy's Folly". In this first incarnation it was a quite different affair. Amazing fresh farm to table food!! The outside seating is beautiful!
Just was in the middle of eating breakfast. My son had to go to bathroom. I left my hat on the table and we went to locate the bathroom. We come back to find our table cleared. Is it apparently not allowed to relieve yourself during a meal without losing half of your $40 breakfast? Last time going to the blue pig, that's for sure.
We ate breakfast here this morning and it was delicious. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by just how good everything tasted. I would highly recommend that you try the Stuffed French Toast and Blackstone. I cannot wait to go back for lunch/dinner. What a little gem we have discovered!
Great atmosphere and great food! We will certainly return.
This was our first trip to Cape May and The Blue Pig Tavern was our first dining experience. Almost immediately after arriving, the hostess Emily was condescending and smug towards us, which continued until after we finished our meal. Our server did a great job, however those working at the hostess station were the cause of a poor dining experience. It would be appreciated if management took action and encouraged all their employees to treat everyone with respect.
I want to go back to Cape may just to have breakfast at the Blue Pig!!
The steak and cake was delicious! The lamb chops were awesome!
The sevice and food are amazing, Get the blackened mako!
Excellent staff & food! Very enjoyable experience!
