For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". Great food. Huge portions. Come hungry. Staff is friendly and very attentive.
We had dinner at the Blue Pig on Monday. We sat outside with our elderly beagle in her pet stroller. Sarah was our waitress and she was terrific. I had the meatloaf which was wonderful. My wife had the fried chicken from the Blue plate special meme and enjoyed it. We ate lunch here in June and that was another great experience.
Worst dinner ever. They brought us the main course while we were having our appetizers, we sent it back, but then when it was time for the main course our dinners were cold, they reheated obviously, but it wasn't the experience we were looking for, having reheat dinners.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and presented well. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. Overall it was a great experience!!
Nice atmosphere, limited menu, service a little slow. Food was good, would go back.
This was our second time eating at The Blue Pig Tavern and dinner was great. The people were as pleasant , kind and sweet as they were from the first time we ate at the blue pig tavern. We will stop here again on our next visit to Cape May NJ.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Great location. Portions could have been bigger for the prices charged.
