For almost two centuries the hotel has offered hospitality to locals and visitors alike. It began life in 1816 as a simple boarding house for summer visitors to one of America's earliest seaside resorts. Its owner, Thomas H. Hughes, called his new boarding house "The Big House". Was there for dinner and breakfast this Friday-Saturday. Staff was excellent, my wife ordered the risotto which is her favorite dish, but wasn't happy with it. Came out cool and wasn't pleased with overall taste of it. Waiter Josh had no issues returning it and getting her the half-chicken, which was excellent! We've been here before this trip and would definitely return again!
Went with my wife on New Year's Eve. Service was a little slow. Food was good but over priced.

The service was absolutely terrible. Christmas dinner with 3 courses, of 4 choices for apps, 5 for dinner and 3 for dessert took 3 hours. Plus spill something liquid on us to boot. I added this the next day: 6 of 11 of us the next day had stomach issues.
