No complaints here I shopped around to all three of the big area nurseries in search of some Crepe Myrtles for my yard. Although all three nurseries provided some good information, the customer service at Blue Mount really reeled me in. The employee there walked me around to all the types and sizes, explained in detail the growth and care of the plants and how to choose them, allowed me time to decide and then proptly returned to help me pay, tag the trees and arrange for planting and offered me his card in case I had any fu... read more
Bad service Great nursery. But, I don't think I've ever been greeted or heard a nice thing out of any employees mouth, so don't go to Bluemont regularly.
Rude and Disrespectful I've been to this nursery a dozen times maybe due to its proximity, but I will never go there again. Almost every time I'm treated like I'm going to steal something. Prices are high which would be okay if you were treated respectfully. Instead it's - you can only exit out the back door so you have to walk around the whole building. Blue mount is infected with pests I bought 3 trees last week, the Japanese maple was dying within 3 hours after I got it home, the magnolia tree had Japanese Beetles in the top blooms (I never had them here before this - and am now infested. The weeping cherry appears to be OK for now. I called in 3 days and informed them of the situation and was rudely told to bring them back for 50% return. MISLED! User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by siamews3 09/27/2010 I had been a good customer of Blue Mount for 8 years, purchasing numerous perennials, annuals and pots from them. I WAS a good customer until yesterday. In late July I had purchased a very large fern, pot and potting soil. I had noticed that there were some yellow leaves, which they said came from too much sun (sunburn) from the greenhouse, but that the plant had lots of new growth and would be fine. Blue Mount is our Go-To Nursery I'm surprised at the negative comments about Blue Mount. It's our go-to nursery. We drive past Home Depot and Meadow Farms for Blue Mount every time. The times we have been there, everyone has been helpful and friendly, and we bought a lot of interesting specie of plants. Also, I see the complaints about friendliness, but it seems to me that friendliness is a 2-way street. All of our plants that we bought there last year fo the front yard are doing great. Would not recommend Overpriced with poor customer service. We bought a birch tree only to find that the main root had been cut too short for the tree to live. When we went back for a refund they refused. They only offered replacements. We looked around the lot and found the rest of the birch trees we had seen weeks earlier all dead for the same reason.
Awesome place Awesome place. I have bought 15 trees of all varieties from Blue Mount and have had them all installed by Blue Mount. Additionally I have bought 8 Xmas trees and plenty of plants and shrubs. The staff is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always available for technical support including questions on watering, leaf condition, and landscaping. I can honesty say this place is the best nursey in northern Virginia and I know them all.
Christmas tree I have been going to Bluemount since they opened and always found them to be great. I am sorely disappointed today though. I bought my Christmas tree from them, told them I was alone and needed the tree cut shorter so I could move it myself and asked them to be sure to drill it well for the tree stand.
