Christmas tree I have been going to Bluemount since they opened and always found them to be great. I am sorely disappointed today though. I bought my Christmas tree from them, told them I was alone and needed the tree cut shorter so I could move it myself and asked them to be sure to drill it well for the tree stand. I managed to get it in the house and found they had only drilled the tree ONE inch deep. I could not get it on the stand, my drill was too weak to drill it. Blue Mount Nursery Blue Mount is your one-stop place to make your yard a showplace! Since we moved to VA five years ago, we have bought several trees there and had them planted by the crew. Every one of them are thriving and look amazing! Their annuals are always the healthiest around, and we'd never even think of going anywhere else. They also have a great holiday shop.
Awesome place Awesome place. I have bought 15 trees of all varieties from Blue Mount and have had them all installed by Blue Mount. Additionally I have bought 8 Xmas trees and plenty of plants and shrubs. The staff is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always available for technical support including questions on watering, leaf condition, and landscaping. I can honesty say this place is the best nursey in northern Virginia and I know them all.
Comparison: Blue Mount, Meadow Farms, Home Depot, Lowes, and WalMart Usually I am more of a loyal customer of Meadow Farms Nursery in both the Leesburg and Reston areas. They have better and more consistent customer service. They actually remember you from year to year and work with you on a more personal note. However, when I am seeking that unusual specimen for my landscape such as Gingko, Butterflies Yellow Magnolia, or Glauca Blue, Blue Mount Nursery does provide. Poor Customer Service, premium prices Average selection, premium prices. Be aware that there is a 15% restocking fee for all plant material returned for refund. We put a tree on hold and then decided against it the next day. Management insisted on charging a 15% restocking fee even though the tree never left the lot. We will use them only for small items for convenience. We will not buy any large ticket items or large quantity purchases because we feel that customer service is very low priority. Make the drive somewhere else! Have been to Blue Mount twice. Found prices to be very high and followed around the nursery with my children, as if we were going to steal something or damage a plant. Never offered help after purchases or even a "Thank you". Should have went with my intuition the first time when we entered the nursery through a turnstile (very unwelcoming feeling)....and will not return.
Horrible service and even worse attitude I stopped by to get some plant caddies and stood in line about 25 minutes to pay for them. I do not know who their customer base is but when I asked about a $50 fee listed on the recept I was told it was the charge for reurned checks. Cashier added that was is in addition to court fees. Since I had just payed with a check I took it as an implied warning. I will not go back to this place.
Large selection Tad Pricey I travel from state to state and was advised by another nursery to check there for a larger selection. I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection. Now since I fly everywhere bringing plants home was a problem. I was given excellent advice from their staff and was able to transport a small banana tree home to Arizona. I was not happy to hear they did not accept Amex cards. But overall very pleased.
Blue Mount Nursery's staff needs to take class on customer service The nursery has a good overpriced selection with slack customer service, at best. Dear BlueMont : We do live in the dc metro area and many of us are not plant specialists. A picture of the blooming flower to be, or a mere description would be helpful. A price tag on your plants would also be of service considering your staff is few and far between.
