BYOB lacks value – While cute and small, as if eating in someone's living room, I was sadly disappointed by the pricing and portions served. I have no problem spending $20-30 on an entree (I chose a chicken breast served over potatoes), but if I do, I expect it to be of excellent quality, taste, preparation and to fill me up. I also ordered a salad, which was good, but not worth the $6-9 I paid. At the end of the meal, I felt that I had been charged $25 for a meal I could have cooked at home for $5. I was hungry about 2 hour... read more

Cozy BYOB Bistro La Baia offers very good food at a great price and it's a BYOB. They typically offer fish specials which are always very good. The restaurant is cozy and can be a little cramped on weekends. Be sure to bring a good bottle of wine. PROS: BYOB CONS:

Go! But don't expect warmth and cuddles – Without doubt the best value in a BYO in Philadelphis! As others have said, stick to the menu for outstanding value for your dollar. I commend the establishment for keeping prices so reasonable. While the place is a bit cramped, everyone is good-natured and rolls with the situation... everyone, that is, save the staff. "Business-like" is the best that you can say about them (Tip to staff: a smiling face does not cost anything or take extra time). Everyone in our party of four loved t... read more

Don't go on a summers night – Bistro La Baia is a SMALL byob w/ REALLY good food. Unfortunatley it's size is a REAL issue. I was w/ a party of 4 on a friday in July and it was a little uncomfortable. The service was good and prices reasonable but if I ever return it'll be in the fall or winter if @ all. The callopine was incredible and all other entree's were really good from what my friends told me. The appetizers were ordinary so skip them & leave room for desert.

Stick with the menu items – Great Little BYOB. BUT, as other writers have mentioned, DON'T ORDER THE OVERPRICED "SPECIALS". Stick with the menu, especially the pasta's. I would go back again.

Wonderful little find – The food was absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to the deserts we were completely delighted. Everything from seafood to veal was incredible. The prices are unbelievably reasonable. There were six people in our group and we ordered every appetizer to split between us as well entrees and desserts and we paid $30 a piece! And that included tip! My entree was the most expensive on the menu and it was $14! I thought the service was wonderful as well. The services was quick and friendly and very acco... read more

Good, but not outstanding – La Baia was good, but I have a few gripes. The pacing of service was much too quick --our appetizers came 5 minutes after we ordered it. I had the Veal Porcini and my companion had the lamb chop special. Both were good -- the vegetables and mashed potato sides were especially tasty. The prices on the menu are very reasonable (my veal dish was $14) but the special was $24 ( It was a few lamb chops. that seems very dishonest to me. It's not like it was lobster and caviar). The place is very cramped,... read more

Cozy and Tasty – The food was great. I was not disappointed with the lobster ravioli. Pass on the salad and go for the soup of the day. Bring a nice bottle of wine and enjoy. We did!!
