Beware of the crazy old lady at Big Al's! I thought I was the only person who got stalked by that crazy old lady! I moved to Simi Valley 3 years ago and Big Al's was the closest pet supply store. I had been going there for months and then one day, I took my little dog with me and here comes this old lady who asked if I needed any info about a product so I thought she was nice. Theresas is better I stopped going here years ago for two reasons, one Theresas pet food here in Simi has way better prices. Two the owner of the store doesn't care at all about animals, only money. I told him about Iams, and how they do CRUEL animal testing. He said he didn't care, as long as people spend money on the food that was all he cared about. Shame on him, plus the store is to expensive anyway.
Great Groomer!!!! I am not to sure about the store itself or the people everyone is referring too, but they have this groomer Chris and she is the best one in town by far!!!!!!! I have tried several and Chris is cheaper than anyone else i've tried and my dog's always look great when I pick them up and they love to give her kisses!!!!!!
Big Al's Pet Food Warehouse is a lot better now! I went in and heard the annoying lady isn't there anymore. They have a brand new owner and they're getting new management. It was relief to know the issue with that lady has been addressed. I will definitely go to Big Al's more often know.
Big Al's Pet Food Warehouse is not as good as it seems. I saw Big Al's ad in the paper and thought I'd try it out. I was very surprised and the selection of items for pets. The workers are friendly and helpful. However, after looking more closely, the prices there are outrages and extremely high. If you shop around you can get the same things cheaper at PetSmart, PetCo, Walmart or Target. What a shame. They'd be a big hit in Simi if they had competitive prices. Big Al's Did Me Wrong This place is not what i thought it to be. They sold me on the frequent buyer program for food. When i went in to purchase my 6th bag of food they told me that they lost my frequent buyer card, then said i must of had another family member come in and take it cause they changed there program. They told me that i would have to start my program over. Which is not right at all. The girl at the counter even told me that my record showed that i purchase 5 bags. Big Al's fan I have many pets and find Big Al's to be the best pet store in Simi Valley. The advice given by the employees is always good and helpful. Most advice is given with personal experience. I believe all of the managers are helpful and kind and have a wide range of knowledge in the pet store trade. I enjoy the fact that if I need advice about a product, someone is always there to help.
I like Big Al's for the advice, Vet services and product selection. I shop at Big Al's on a bi weekly basis. I know of the "annoying" woman you are referring to not by name but by sight. I have found her advice to be quite good and helpful. She saved me from purchasing dog treats made in China that I thought were made in the US. Big Al's Pet store is nothing but great I grew up in simi and we shop at Big Als, we LOVE June who clips the pets nails. We also have never been bothered by anyone at the store and the people there have always been helpful. I don't know what "crazy old lady" people are talking about. We have been going there for MANY years. I also have never been spoken down to or told I was a bad "pet parent" as some of you call it. We have been treated nothing but nice there and think everyone else is crazy.
