I am seeing all of these complaints about Better Beach Rentals & Sales and believe me it is SO TRUE. Some of the replies back from Better Beach Rentals is very disturbing on this site. Stay away from them. Our rental was dirty, musky smelling, grease every where in the kitchen, grease on all the dishes, pots and pans, utensils, towels left in the dryer, no outside trash bin for garbage pickup. It is unfortunate that Mrs. ******** believes that she should have been relocated to another property during her stay, especially since despite claiming the property was "filthy" she still chose to stay for her reservation. I tried booking through Better Beach Rentals in Oak Island, NC via Julie, and she tried upcharging me $250 because I requested a week in March 2021 but wanted to know if the pool/hot tub are strictly private to the house as it is not obvious through the description/pictures. The price would've been $250 cheaper had I never messaged Julie. When I mentioned that the price increased and will need to be adjusted, she blocked me from renting the house. This is the WORST beach rental company in Oak Island. Beware! READ THE OTHER REVIEWS. It is also unfortunate that Ms. ******* did not purchase the travel protection insurance before 30 days from coming on her vacation as offered to her. Don't waste your time with this company!! The company owners and managers could care less about you enjoying your vacation and stay. The house "Picture Perfect" was far from that! Owners had people working on our house through our entire stay!! Mattresses/comforters and bathroom had stains throughout the whole house. The vendors did not come to the house at the time that they were supposed to come. Better Beach Rentals was not notified of the workers schedules as Better Beach Rentals did not schedule the work. This company is horrible! We arrived to our rental, "Picture Perfect" (not perfect by any means), and found nails, dirty beds with blood? stains, trash on furniture, and the house smelled awful. The bunk beds don't even have nice mattresses! They feel as though they are just the box spring. Also did I mention that we found a cockroach! We called the company and let them know. The girls working for the company are nice..but you can not speak to a manager and they refuse to return your call. I even emailed twice. I got a partial email response the first time and nothing after the stay. We had rented an oceanfront house with a pool. As she stated, she was notified about an amenity, a pool, that was not going to be available during her stay. If I could give this company a negative rating, I would!! Donn at BBR answered the phone extremely unprofessional and after not being able to address my reason for calling, hung up on me when I politely asked for a manager. They continue to give me the run around when working through a rental refund because of the recent hurricane. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!

We do not have a Donn working at our company so I cannot ask that person what is going on as no such person exists. The only reason anyone would ever get hung up on is that the guest were cursing or the phone got disconnected. Please beware of this company. They have the worst customer service and are flat out rude and nasty and aren't afraid to flaunt it. They will scam you and keep your money while giving you nothing in return. Whatever you do --DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They kept 16k of our money and never gave us a house to rent. PLEASE BEWARE!

She declined the insurance when the reservation was made and then she received 2 reminders that she may want to take our travel insurance to protect her reservation money.
