Here is my Facebook post from yesterday. This sums it up and I would like follow up as I want to file a formal grievance. How the hell do you take it upon yourself to cut off someone's complete beard with no permission from anyone, no family or anyone?...How?!?!? This was the first time I have ever heard of shaving a patient's beard because he vomited. Would you shave your head if you got vomit in your hair? I think not. I think you would use soap and water. The disrespect of this situation was such a hard kick in the gut! My dad was unresponsive and prognosis was death. My father had NEVER shaved his beard. The ER is a disaster. After waiting 2 hours for the nurse to come in and introduce herself I went to the desk. Finally, after complaining, the nurse came in and had the wrong name for my husband. REALLY
I have only had the worst experience with this hospital especially the Milton branch. The amount of racism and discrimination I have felt from staff had been disheartening. As fellow medical professional I know what it means to care for a patient in a professional matter, but how I was treated today at the ER I can see why so many people are failed by our system. The team at Beth Israel saved my father’s life. My father had an abdominal aortic aneurysm that ruptured where he had to be transferred from BI in Plymouth with a helicopter to Boston. A team of people were waiting for him and told us that it was a very difficult and complicated surgery. We are forever indebted to the surgeons, doctors and nurses there. Thank you 🙏 💜
