The best thing about BIDMC are the compassionate nurses and doctors. One of the best doctors by far has been Dr. Michael Kent, Thoracic surgeon and Oncologist. Not once did we feel rushed out of his office or made to feel our questions were foolish. He was kind and very compassionate. The biggest complaint we have is the continuity of care when it came time for our oncology nurse. We never have had the same nurse, while all are knowledgeable you don't get to bond. It’s infuriating to be in pain and not be believed and/or treated without a sense of urgency. It blew my mind last night after communicating that my VISIBLE pain was an 8 or 9 and the response was to give me a pager (like the ones at chain restaurants) and I was told to wait. Too many hours, micro aggressions and thousands of dollars later, I was given Tylenol/Motrin and false discharge instructions.
I highly recommend DR Pleskow
