Owner David Laxer carries on the tradition of excellence begun by his father Bern more than 40 years ago. Beef connoisseurs should make this restaurant first on their list of culinary stops. Known for its large selection of melt-in-your mouth aged beef, it is easy to see why it has won a wall full of awards. The “putting on the ritz” crowd have some 25 types of caviar to ponder and a wine cellar that pushed one half million bottles.

My first time to Bern's was a night my wife and I will never forget. We were celebrating our 10th Anniversary Friday the 14th, and had decided a couple of months ago that we would come up to Tampa, (from Ft. Myers) and stay the night to go to this restaurant that so many friends raved about. They couldn't have been more in point. Amazing, steak and sides. Never disappoints with the dessert room topping off a lovely evening. Dining at Berns is not dinner, it is an event! Professional, gracious service. A Tampa tradition which is a must for anyone visiting this great city!
This is one of those restaurants that isn't jut dinner, it is an experience. It is always top notch service and incredible quality of food with a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar because they have an incredible establishment and process with cool stories. Definitely a place to go when in town, special occasions, taking clients or just because you want an aged steak. But make a reservation because it isn't easy to get in.
Amazing food! Perfect service. Very impressed by the friendliness, knowledge and competence of the staff. The tour of the kitchen and wine cellar is very interesting, seeing who works behind the scene. The dessert room is not to be missed, here again very impressed by knowledge and friendliness. This is the best place I have eaten so far in the USA and I strongly recommend a visit!
I waited 23 years to come back to Bern's. It was every bit as delightful as I remembered. I had the filet mignon. The onion soup was delicious. We went upstairs to the Harry Waugh room for dessert. I had the Black Muscat and the peanut butter chocolate truffle. Everyone should go to Bern's at least once in their life.
Every year I come here for my birthday. The meal and service are always impeccable.

The service and the food were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was incredible and, did I mention the food was amazing? Best steak and French onion soup I have ever had. The tours were great and so interesting. Would fly back to Tampa just to eat there again.
One of the most unique dining experiences I've ever had. Terrific steaks, a killer wine list (176 pages of great wines with vintages going back multiple decades), and great service. It's a pilgrimage destination for wine lovers.
