Owner David Laxer carries on the tradition of excellence begun by his father Bern more than 40 years ago. Beef connoisseurs should make this restaurant first on their list of culinary stops. Known for its large selection of melt-in-your mouth aged beef, it is easy to see why it has won a wall full of awards. The “putting on the ritz” crowd have some 25 types of caviar to ponder and a wine cellar that pushed one half million bottles.

Great food great service! Fine detailed wine selection, food was perfect as described in menu. Chateaubriand was crusty on the outside, warm and red on inside. The best, most amazing thing we ate was the creamed corn with white truffle. The carrots added nothing to the meal but the collard greens were smoking and delicious. The desert room was also amazing the macadamia nut ice cream was best I’ve ever had, even better than Jenis.
I love steak! My husband is vegetarian and adores Bern's. Great cocktails. Aside all of that, it's part of old school Tampa and Florida which is sadly and quickly disappearing from our landscape. Bern's keeps the tradition while changing with the times. A hard balancing act.
Our first time at Bern’s. It was fabulous from beginning to end. Every course was timed perfectly. We weren’t rushed and left to enjoy our meal! It was nice to be in a restaurant where everyone - employees and customers were dressed for the occasion. Look forward to returning again
We had the best meal! And the service John provided was outstanding. We go every year for our anniversary. This was our 28th year!
